Laudato Si Week

This year commemorates the 9th Anniversary of the publication of the encyclical Laudato Si on the care of creation.

During Laudato Si week 2024, Pope Francis’ message for the World Day of Prayer of the Care of Creation will be announced. As in previous years this will be on September 1, the first day of the season of Creation.

This year, Laudato Si Week is dedicated to inspiring “a personal and cultural transformation in the midst of our ecological and climate crises”.

This year’s theme is “Seeds of Hope”, inspired by the Season of Creation 2024 symbol, “the first fruits of hope”. The theme is accompanied by a guiding quote from Laudate Deum: “There are no lasting changes without cultural changes … and there are no cultural changes without personal changes” (LD 70).
